AGB, I'm not a corn grower for a couple reasons, one being what you said. Not trying to get into your business, but the economics of growing corn kind of puzzles me.
Do you think its reasonable to expect to grow 200 bushel corn on a routine basis in our part of the country? I'm asking because given the basic costs in seed, fertilizer and chemicals to produce that kind of crop, along with rents/land costs, fuel, machinery and labor...not to mention drying, storage and transport, well it looks mighty close to being a wash at those yield levels and the relative cash price.
Just have a hard time convincing myself I need another high input low reward job!
