southcentral Minnesota | I can tell those that haven’t lived through or are old enough to remember the government attempts to overtly control production. It failed magnificently then as it would now. The Agriculture and Consumer Protection Act of 1973 authorizes the use of cropland set-asides for upland cotton,wheat, and feed grains (corn, grain sorghum, and barley).
It was a misnomer to say reserve instead of what it actually is, a carryout. Again the government has gone from overtly controlling supply t the way they handle it now.
