Subject: RE: Corn cartel

A good number of farms grow corn and feed it too. Are they gonna be forced to join in? Now not only do they have to buy more corn than they produce for their livestock, but they'll be doing it at a higher price in theory.

A good number of farms own shares in private ethanol plants. Are they supposed to swallow the losses at the ethanol plants so they can sell less corn at a little higher price and probably make the same amount of money?

Business is about adaptation and change to the market, not changing the market to satisfy you. If you're growing crops and need to figure out another way, cut your costs or find a better market or use for the crop or get the heck out. I'm making money at these prices right now, and I have a higher cost structure than a lot of people here because I'm young and starting out. A lot of threads recently about land prices not softening much if at all. If guys are bleeding right now, they need to consider if they can continue or not.

Tough times don't last, tough people do.
