And how is it crazy. All breeds went through an improvement phase after the late 70s and early 80s. Herefords still had the regular coat till about 1990. After that, the darks and the lights showed up in the masses. The only thing crazy, is saying it didnt happen in your breed because it happened in all breeds.
True. The associations opened the herd books for a number of years in the 70's anyway before closing them again. Almost every Hereford person I know used Simmental. Angus folks mostly seemed to use Chianina. Had to find a way to get the dwarfism gene out. |
