finney county, ks
There are guys still making money coup is right maybe extreme but right. There are ways to lower expenses rotated ground go straight rr or conventional and look around at other seed companies I think for the most part everyone has some good hybrids. Check fertilizer prices and chemical prices at multiple retailers. And know cop based on your aph, and also at 85% of aph is what i like to do and if that price is offered i sell a large chunk of my expected production. And i like to use statistics on price either standard deviation or just when price hits the upper 3rd of last 5 years probably not to bad of a place to sell some. There are guys doing these things and making money today maybe not at what prices are today but at what prices were offered for their crop in the past year. And to note if you have to sell at harvest you need to be more aggressive than most forward selling
