West Texas | When I dual booted Win ME and Linux, no problems.
I dual booted Vista and XP, lots of problems.
Like mentioned in the article, if you try to install XP on a second partition with Vista already installed, you will have problems. I found a work around but it was a lot of headaches!! I ended up buying a program called PowerSuite Professional to help me with the dual boot problem. It took care of most problems as far as seeing both partitions.
In the end I had to order a recovery disc as I did not make one in Vista before I started messing around. This was on a brand new lap top and they don't come with OS disc. You have to make them your self.
DKO, I think I mentioned in another post that I just ordered a bare bones kit from Tigerdirect. For less then $400 I'll have a pretty powerful system running XP (I have the CD) with 3 Gigs of ram.
I have always wanted to put a system together myself and this one had the ports I needed etc. I figured if I was going to do it now was the time before my eyes get any worse. | |
