C IL | You seem like a guy who always has your business sense forward, I imagine your opportunity to pick up acres will come in the next several years. I had a conversation with a neighbor about my age about that today. I don't doubt there are sharp operators making good money today with high rents, aggressive inputs, and some good yields from good management, but the herd is going to keep thinning out, methinks. Seems like lots of guys would start slowly aging out as it gets less 'fun', and the consolidation we see in the inputs sector would pick up on the producer side as land and rent prices go sideways or down, despite the notable standout areas. |
