Here is an opposing point of view by Charles Smith. He writes some good articles. Some I agree with, some I do not, but always thoughtful and thought provoking.

Here is his ideas about no other currency replacing the dollar. I also do not think there is any other currency out to replace the dollar. Only to chip away at its hegemony. To give alternatives to some countries that were not there before. And I think that chipping away could, over time, be more significant damage that what the general consensus is estimating. Perhaps not though.
