If he wanted to sell it, then he wouldn't be asking how to pass the farm on. Set up a trust and you will have your wishes carried out when you are gone. Nothing wrong with building a business and wanting your family to enjoy in the success. If you don't like being ruled by your parents in a grave then quit and get a job in town.
