Subject: RE: Will

I used the word "I" initially because I am the 6th generation. My father left the farm to myself and my husband and that became "we". Of course, sentimentally, it means more to me than him but he is as proud an owner as myself. I don't look at myself as a narcissist. I just want to protect the grandchildren should they be interested. Land isn't cheap and I would imagine trying to buy property 20 years from now on this type of scale would be difficult. The farm houses 150 angus x simmental mamma cows. Sheep were also here on a somewhat large scale of 250 ewes but coyotes took care of that enterprise. There is hay production and corn.
So while sentimental does factor in, the goal is to protect any interest a grandchild might have. Our children showed cattle and sheep and enjoyed it but they have moved on and have told us they are not interested in farming it. Just was curious if anyone had set a trust, how it was worded so I might get different ideas before I go spend 10,000 on a lawyer.
