West Central, IL | A lot of people on here will bash ruling from the grave, I won't. Each generation before you sacrificed to buy ground. That's missed vacations, less gifts at Christmas and a harder way of life. Each generation in row decided growing the farm was worth that sacrifice. Why we believe generations of hard work should all be cashed just to allow one generation to retire 10 years earlier and blow that money is beyond me. Just because they didn't want to farm doesn't mean that birth right should be lost for the next generation.
If I have kids someday and only one chooses to farm I will give the ground to the one who wants to farm. Nothing knocks the wind out of growing a farm more than buying the same farm each generation. | |
