Subject: RE: Windows in new home

west central MN

We used Marvin windows in our new house and they lasted 11 years before we had to replace about 2/3rds of them. They had a 10 year warranty and I talked to someone there after we had them about 9 years and they would not help us out at all. There was a time frame in there when our house was built when they admitted that they had used some lower quality lumber also. The lumber yard we used had gone out of business so we had no help from them either. A lot of people use Marvins and like them but we will never use them again as I feel they did not treat us very good at all. I know you just asked about windows but I would not use Certainteed shingles either. Google them if you are thinking about them. We also had terrible luck with them and so did several of our neighbors.
