Burgessville, Ontario | If you can spray a 100 acre field and have 100 acres on your monitor, you do not need a GPS system or the monitor you have in your sprayer is calibrated wrong. In the real world of spraying, most people would come up with about 102 to 105 acres of spray coverage in a 100 acre field. By going with a hands free gps system or an autoswath system, you should be able to reduce that acre count bringing it back closer to the 100 acre total. Howclose varies depending on shape of field, operator experience, speed, operator using cell phone etc etc etc.
So it goes back to are you spraying 100 acres or more than 100 acres in that 100 acre field. If you spray more acres than the 100, that is where the payback is found. From your post, I think I would send the gps unit back as you seem to be "very close". | |
