Not for a while, probably not for years. People don't trust that this market will stick around....not that this price is so high right now, just that it SEEMS like it. The older guys that have the backing to expand don't have the physical ability to do it and don't want the hassle of managing any more hired help. They wil just coast out, trying to enjoy their last years in the business. Have been reading about how HIGH prices are and got to thinking back in time. In May of 1979 fat cattle topped about 75 bucks. So, they have barely doubled at best. Think of what prices of other things would be if they had only doubled from that time frame. Packers have had their way with the cattleman for too long and as always, White Shadow, your post is a good one. The answer to your question is HE!! NO.
