S Illinois | I think you may be reading too much into these numbers. Have you ran a comparison on early harvest results for prior years? Most years there is a significant amount harvested before Sept 1. I do not believe that USDA is massaging the numbers as much as you suspect. I would say that some of this years early harvest did get fed before Sept 1 2013, however for USDA accounting purposes that is counted as usage of 13/14 crop. This is why feed usage can be so high in the 1st quarter when compared to the other 3 quarters. This is how USDA has always treated this situation. | |
