Near-north Ontario, French River | He never said where he is from, so frost may NOT bring out the compaction, if say he is from southern Kentucky... How wet is it? If it REALLY wet you might be surpised with how little compaction you are doing. If the ground is fully saturated its difficult to compact. Two falls ago we had a WET harvest, first time in our lives we ever got a combine stuck, know of one guy who cracked the frame on a large JD combine trying to pull it out. Mild winter followed and everyone was surprised that they could get out on the fields in early april to fill ruts etc,,, never saw any issues in the crop the next spring, fully expected to see massive compaction damage, but it never showed up then or since. |
