Whoever pays the bills, sets farm policy. He probably is struggling wondering if he made the right decision and you tell him he is wrong. He knows just as much about compaction and ruts as you do. Probably knows more than you do about loosing a crop cause it didn't get harvested in a timely manner. Your day will come to make the tough decisions.
