Will sticking your neck very far out make your life any Better? In 1983 I went off to college as there was no way to break into farming 3k ground and very high interest rates experts called it the new normal, by 1987 you could buy ground that cash flowed for less than a thousand, had to have some cash to do it as the lenders were not very enthused at that point. Farmland is currently trading around 40 times earnings, this is a record, stocks were trading around this same level in 2007(40x earnings) today around 16x. No one knows what the future brings, but caution is warranted when buying large chunks of anything at record prices(houses, dot.com stocks, gold, silver, tulip bulbs etc) Make sure you can stand year or two of low yields and prices.
