| Do you use wells to tap underground water at all? Many, probably the majority of farms in western Canada have wells and don't have to rely on dugouts or rainwater collection like I have. Five kilometers west of my farm people have wells that tap in to an underground aquifer. Quality and volume of wells can vary greatly but I envy those that have decent wells. Some areas can tap into water pipelines from nearby cities, but in my area it costs over $30,000. to hook up and the water rate is double the price paid by the people in the city.
