West Tennessee | High Mic and ihmh81 have given you the correct answers. You really need to sit down and discuss this with your employer if you haven't already. In the worst case scenario you can contact the IRS and inform them of the situation and after some back and forth your employee status (assuming that's the case) can be forced on the employer by the IRS. This normally doesn't work out in a long term employment situation if you get my drift (and I'm putting that very lightly). As I already said, the best thing to do is sit down and discuss it with the employer to reach a solution that works for both of you. I've seen lots of compromises reached in these situations but realistically the W2 and corresponding paperwork is the best solution to both of you from my experience. | |
