Selma, Alabama | Back in 1998 my wife and I were in the Great Smoky Mountains sight seeing in Cades Cove and her Dodge car overheated. The only thing I could think to do in the middle of a National Park was to take out the thermostat. Borrowed a pair of Channel lock pliers, a small pipe wrench, and a screwdriver from the helpful park ranger, removed the water neck, threw out the thermostat. Next issue? What to do for a gasket? The only thing I caould find that might work was a cardboard Kleenex box. Cut out the gasket from my "Gasket material". Made it 8 miles back to town, no problem! | |
