Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa | The twine story below reminded me of a situation I saw at a discount store some years ago. Two young women in about an '83 Chrysler lead-sled, coming out of the parking lot in a moderately heavy rain. The wiper motor had apparently given up the ghost at some point, so there was a length of twine tied onto each wiper, the windows were rolled down and each woman had an arm out the window, pulling in turn on their length of twine to keep the windshield clear. Doubt the local cops would have had any sense of humor about it, but it kept me laughing all afternoon. |
