central - east central Minnesota -
How 'bout some cranberry tasties ? (don't really know what they are called). MIL took some whole cranberries with melted almond bark and man they were good. I watch off and on as she made them (wife I tryed also with limited success). Select some clean dry whole ripe cranberries (supposedly, in addition to floating on water, ripe berries bounce - fwiw) keep berries at room temp - cool or cold berries don't work with hot almond bark. Melt some almond bark and dip them in almond bark or what every method to cover them completely. They make a very tasty treat that all seem to like. We found that the almond bark can be too hot to work and too cool isn't good either. Seems like the just right temp of the almond bark helps tenderize the berry slightly . . . There, now you know my cooking skills . . . lol and I'm sure if the native americans or pilgrims had almond bark, they would have had them on their table !
