Eastern Nebraska
Cranberry jello salad...... always a hit and you will be lucky to have any left....
1 bag cranberries, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a pot..... heat and cook until the cranberries pop when cranberries are soft add 2 small boxes or 1 large box of cherry jello and stir to dissolve. Add 1 1/2 cups cold water.
In a bowl while the cranberries are cooking..... chop up (slice or dice) 2 large stalks celery and 3 to 4 medium apples. I like Braeburns or Galas..... no red delicious. Cut into bite size pieces. I leave the skin on. Add in the cranberries and stir well put in the fridge until set. You can also add nuts to this but we do not because of nut allergies out there.... This is reaally good with turkey but also other times of the year with pork...... enjoy
