Because it’s a cute little saying that tries to ignore reality.

In reality, I expect most of the vaccinated folks could care less what happens to those that don’t want to get vaccinated.......if their high rates of illness didn’t affect our lives.

But it does.

So, we want this thing to be over and done with so we can move on. It won’t be as long as there are large segments of our population that are susceptable to reinfection to support surges.

This is probably going to require booster doses for vaccinated people as well as the unvaccinated people getting immunity somehow. It may be they will get that immunity by getting infected and reinfected enough times that the virus eventually burns out. Likely to be a slow and “dirty” process.
