IL | Thank you all for the replys. I have been working for this guy for 6 years and every year I get hammered for a big sum of money at the end of the year all at once. I have friends in the area that receive cash under the table from other farmers and it's a hard decision to stay with this guy. However, I have a good relationship with him and do not intend on tarnishing it by going to the IRS or even worse going to work for the neighbors. I think the best option is to sit down with him and try to set up a W2. Do any of you guy's know if my employer is profiting(besides not paying 50% of the s.s. tax) off of the 1099 rather then a W2 in any way, or is it just easier this way?
