I don't know. I let a lady from the city put a couple hives beside a field entrance. She can pull in the driveway and check on them without bothering me at all, so I am not too worried about compensation. They've been here since last May and she took honey from them last fall. She hasn't been back out this way since she bottled it, but she says she has a case of honey waiting for me the next time she is out here.
