North Central Illinois | Very true! Unfortunately a lot of us who lived thru the 80's are getting to be the older generation now. We have a whole new generation of farmers in their 20's and 30's who weren't even alive in the 80's. They have heard about the 80's from their fathers and grandfathers, but they haven't lived it. A lot of them thought the good times were here for good when 2008 rolled around. Many of them spent a ton of money on dirt and iron during at that time while also adopting a pretty high standard of living. Lots of toys and vacations, momma driving around in a $60,000 SUV, and the list goes on and on. I don't begrudge anyone their toys and buying necessary iron and definitely not dirt. It's just that some of the younger generation who have never had to tighten their belts are going to have to learn how to do so and do it fast. | |
