Buxton ND | E-plants at best are breaking even or making a tad. Many running balls to the walls spreading out there fixed costs.
Whether hoofs/feather or grain guys no one is making any money. Cows calf I don't think that's so bad unless you just starting/expanded alot buying high priced heifers or breed cows. Those mega priced feeders last winter ended in a nasty bloodbath, WORSE if you tried to feed your self out of a loss. WAY WAY worse if the semi got sent to the bull/cow slaughter plant. Really ending no different trying to store your self out of a loss with grains.
