On the newer equipment, if it sets too long the batteries run down because of controllers still powered up. You can buy a master shut off switch and manually shut off the battery power but it is an option. If they are smart enough to install all of the technology we have and use today surely they can engineer a system that will automatically shut off battery power before the batteries go dead. That and it would be nice if we could get to the batteries.
