Well, now, there you go again, trying to say that you can somehow magically make a 2/3 rate of fertilizer do the work of a full rate. Ain't gonna happen!
Yes, that plan might just work for a year or two or maybe even three. But IF the standard rate is what the crop needs/removes, and IF you are putting on less, then soil test levels are gonna go down, whether it's banded or not.
Crops in fields with low test levels will probably benefit from row/banded starter. But that's an expensive way to operate long term. Cheaper to spend the money on a decent broadcast program to get the field up to par. | |
