EC MN - Hour North of 'The Cities' | ...then a liquid program ain't for you. Just received an e-mail that it is quite difficult to get 10-34-0 on the wholesale market. Kinda makes me feel good that we went to dry as a starter, but 10-34-0 pop-up is sure nice SOME years. Pound for pound and yield for yield, dry will make you money unless you have an excellent liquid supplier.
Get a planter with dry fert on it and band apply your fertilizer near the roots (2X2). If you felt the need to get fancy, a hyd drive could VRT your dry blend, but it wouldn't be able to VRT each product unless you had multiple boxes for each nutrient. This is where an air cart comes into play.
For MN, a quick rule of thumb is Broadcast X 2/3 = Band rate. This can save a few bucks right off the bat and increases the efficiency of the fertilizer substantially.
If you're going to go this route I suggest you step up your soil test plan to an annual basis depending on your current levels. If everything is high, then you might be able to wait a bit, but if you are in the medium range you might want to get proactive.
