North Dakota | No. But I know a few who will pay almost any figure for land just too:
1. Have THEIR name on it.
2. So they can say they farm X amount of acres.
3. Keep their neighbor or outsider from getting it for one reason or another.
Now that is okay. Perfectly within their right. Have no qualms with it personally. But I think it is foolish and self serving to think any of the reasons I listed matter at all in the scheme of things. Because we are here today and gone tomorrow. So rather than mortgaging my future and possibly those of my offspring I have to make a decision on what is prudent and wise. It is a very hard decision. Not faulting others in any way. Just stating an alternative way of looking at the current land market situation. | |
