The problem is, we've made it way too easy & comfortable to live in this country without working/supporting yourself and your family.
For many people there is no incentive to work, they can collect more from govt programs than they can from a job that they are qualified for that requires hard work. The pay scale that they think they are entitled to, they are neither qualified for or have the work ethic for. So the govt employs them as full time consumers instead of them being productive members of society.
