| I own a quarter that my grandfather bought in 1933 for $1.10 an acre and with no crop in '33 he wondered what he was thinking when he bought it. Managed to make it work and kept buying more. My sister and I own a section that my nephew farms, grandpa bought in '37 from Bank of North Dakota for $3 an acre. Said at the time he was wishing he'd have bought more back when the land was only a $1.10. Point is, no matter what you pay it seems like a lot at the time but it works out, usually. |
