Subject: RE: Carpal tunnel surgery

NC KS
I have had problems off and on for 20 years now. 1st showed up around 40. Never had the surgery as it quit bothering me so much. Flairs up occasionally.
There are a few things you can do to slow it down. One was pointed out to me was how you hold a drill or impact gun. Most grab the grip and index finger runs the trigger. Don't do that. Pull index finger out and point it straight towards bit or socket. Use middle finger on the trigger. Running a screwdriver all day can really flare things up but I use impact driver as much as possible any more. Gripping a hammer all day can really bother also. Throttle on a 4 wheeler can deliver almost instant hand numbness but I quit doing that too (use side by side). See where this is all going-depends on your profession-a carpenter is going to have surgery if having troubles.

I tried brace routine with no improvement. Specialist suggested water pills-didn't try them. If it bothers me, I change my hand position.
