If you replace a lightbulb in the life of the piece, do you remove it? What about filters? Hydraulic oil that isn’t ready to be changed?
Point is, you can nitpick pretty much everything.
This scenario is about as close to 50/50 as far as who’s to blame as anything I’ve seen come up on here. Salesman should’ve verified and customer should’ve stated. Both parties assumed and they assumed differently.
If a customer is switching brands, I likely would’ve assumed he was trading the tech equipment as well and I would’ve been just as wrong. There is no rule or law that states this. It’s done differently in different areas all the time. That’s why it’s so important for both sides to be completely clear before a signature is applied and money is exchanged. | |
