| In the winter of 2018 I had my left hip replaced after serious pain through the growing season. Rehab over 6 weeks put me in good shape for a solid recovery by 3 months. Fast forward to 2020. Restricted movement and only minor pain prompted me to schedule my right hip this winter after harvest. I personally did not want a bad hip to force my hand in the growing season this coming year. Rehab has been slower because of snow/ice and COVID-19 has kept me from going outside to walk and doing laps in big box stores, respectively. I am in a position to start back out in the vineyard to start pruning 6800 vines with my spouse next week. That will be about 10weeks post surgery. As I work in the vineyard I have purchased a walking staff to use for balance. The one thing I won’t do for a couple months more is lifting anything heavy. Good luck to you. | |
