North Central Illinois
One question I don't know the answer to, but might be able to guess if I look closely at the border of my popcorn plot. Does field corn yield suffer from being pollinated by popcorn?

If no that opens a new possibility (or requires significant difference in RM to avoid it.

Plant one row of squash and one of buckwheat. Then 2 rows field corn on each side, skip a row, then two rows popcorn and two rows of dry edible beans. Repeat in mirror image. So, for every 25' we have 4 rows of field corn, 4 rows popcorn, one row of squash and one row of beneficial insect food. Only has a chance in the organic setting until we get to robots that spot spray on a field scale with different products.
