North Central Illinois | I'm loving this discussion. Wouldn't have hatched a lot of ideas without this platform and Twitter to get the conversation going. Now I'm thinking of another angle. Plant a pole type Lima bean. They'll climb the corn stalks. Run everything through the combine with a row crop or bean head (it'll be slow like down corn). Then sort with a rotary screen.
Popcorn is probably the best fit for a harvest first and sort later strategy, as the small kernel size would allow smaller bean sizes and still have an easy sorting process. | |
