If those yields come to fruition, maybe its time to rethink how we farm...and get down to 2 rows of corn 2 rows of beans or some such arrangement, assuming bean yields are consistent. Dual combine able to thresh two crops simultaneously? Two combine passes?
This mirrors some fun conversations I have with another agtalk user. In my research I rarely find that we have reached the potential of today's hybrids and varieties. But we have in our current system. One few will ever stray from. Hard to beat a drum about yields few listen. But bang the acre drum and let the measuring begin. |
