I agree with Charles better prep would make a big difference. Dhi testing would also help to identify and treat or cull the problem cows.
Also really focus on keeping the cows beds clean. We have shavings on mattresses and scrape off the whole back of the stall every milking plus the full prep in the parlour and we average 60,000 lowest I’ve had is 25,000
