Subject: Agreed - 5000

Most vehicle operator manuals have recommended intervals longer than that. I think our 2015 Durango is 7500, but it also has a sensor of some kind that tells you to change the oil when it thinks it is bad. Plus, 5000 is an easy number to remember.

Oil change places push the 3000.

I've gone 10,000 on full synthetic on my pickup 172,000 miles and counting.
