Were is the critism? My motorbike has a 600cc engine that makes 100hp and revs to 13,000 rpm. The oil change interval is 6,000 miles. There are a lot of these used to commute on with 6 figure mileages.

The miles go on fairly easy in the USA. Yes, you have more extreme weather and some of you drive on dirt roads, but al lot of you are using 1980's mineral oil service intervals in 2020. I've seen a few times on here where people are paying out for oil sampling then getting a good reasult back saying the oil is fine and changing it anyway. Like I said, it looks like a national pass time to me.
