The Internet

Changing oil seems to be a national pass time on New Ag Talk.

My vehicles are both low annual mileage so I just get them serviced when they get their annual MOT test. My car has a service interval of a realtively short 10,000 miles or annually. The trips I do are all short and classed as "extreme service" in the book, so it gets done annually which is about 6,000 miles, which is plenty short enough. I could change the oil 3 times a week and it won't make a scrap of difference to the life of the vehicle because it will be age that finishes the car off not wear.

It looks like some of you are changing the oil on your cars at less than 100 engine hours, which is rediculous. Do you change your tyres when they get down to 5mm tread or run them down to the wear bars?
