Ok, he could look it up, but why should he necessarily know who the backup bidder was? Do the auctioneers know the names & locations of every person they give numbers to at a live auction, without looking it up? Why would the auctioneer need to know the backup bidder’s name off the top of their head, which is what it sounds like (might not be though) Case1958’s situation was?
