Pittsburg, Kansas

Eat lots of meat??? LOL

Wife and I are probably about 95% carnivore by now. Doesn't seem to be a problem. We are eating a lunch of blugill and kipper snacks fish for lunch (mixed together in a salad form with mustard, mayo, dill pickle relish) along with pork rinds. For supper we have a rack of smoked ribs that cooked all last night in the smoker along with some pork loins and more ribs for later meals.

We eat a moderate lunch and a large supper, two meals a day. We always eat till we are full at supper. I have actually gained a pound or two in the last month but I think it is muscle as I have been doing some pushups and exercise.

If we happen to not have enough meat fixed to satisfy us, she keeps boiled eggs around all the time and we just add an egg to the meal.

I usually have some radishes in my appetizer, maybe a few olives. I eat some sauerkraut but wife has mostly quit on everything except onions, olives and mushrooms. She did have a little cabbage last night in our brisket soup.

We are not trying to be strict carnivore or even trying to be carnivore at all, it has just kind of transitioned naturally to it. Seems as though my wife feels better the less vegetables she eats and I don't care one way or the other so I just tell her to prepare the same for both of us. She will fix me veggies if I want them but so far have not missed them. We started out keto eating lots of green veggies.

Just the way it has been working for us. Not any recommendation on my part. I think a person needs more salt when going low carb or especially carnivore. Carbs retain the water that retains salt. When the excess water goes away (and the leg swelling) the salt goes with it. We salt liberally.
