I would take hwy 14 (or alt 14) N of Sheridan over to Cody (scenic drive) and see the museum there. Then drive up to Red Lodge, MT and back the same way to Cooke City. Mt Rushmore is educational also.
You have a great trip already planned. Wish I could go and tag along>:)
