If you take I90 through South Dakota plan a stop at the Dignity statue at Chamberlain SD. It is a rest stop on the east side of the Missouri River. If you drive I94 in North Dakota consider stopping in Medora ND for the night. There is a musical they put on every night. It is a fun town to spend the day walking around.
