I fully get it. I never said in my post that all change is always good. I worked for a company that changed their outlook to "We must change!!!". I dared to ask why? What is the root of the change? It boiled down to one person pulling strings hiding behind some Six Sigma BS training. He was for change...for the sake of change, so, by golly, we were going to change!!!

Soybeans were once a weed. Plow down fertilizer until what...the late 30s/early 40s? I don't like the government manipulation either, but to some extent we've allowed it incrementally since the 1930s. The crop insurance deal almost forces corn/soy. Maybe the Big Reset will clean the slate. Maybe not. I guess we'll see.

I don't claim to know what the next crop will be. But standing on the argument of "we built all this infrastructure/equipment/etc" around a monoculture (or two crops) is a straw argument. Nothing is forever or guaranteed, except salvation in Jesus Christ, but that's a different sermon! :-)
